01The challenge

One of the East Coast's biggest body shops, running on a 10-year-old website

Mid Island Collision is one of the largest auto body repair shops on the East Coast, known for customer care and OEM-correct collision repair. Like a lot of shops, it built a website a decade ago and left it alone.

In ten years, customers changed how they research a shop, how they communicate, and what they expect before they trust someone with their car. The old site reflected none of it. It also never made the case for what sets Mid Island apart: OEM-correct repair, the kind of thing customers don't know to value until someone explains why it matters. The shop's reputation had moved a decade past its website.

"Our reputation was built on doing it right. Our old site didn't say any of that." - Brian M., Mid Island Collision
02The solution

Start with the customer's worst day, then build a moment of calm around it

Stratosphere's methodology starts with the customer, not the shop. A collision customer is, by definition, having a bad day: inconvenience, frustration, and a potential financial hit.

Rather than build another brochure site, Stratosphere built a moment of calm. The homepage opens by telling the customer their safety is the shop's priority, which moves the conversation from the shop to how the shop takes care of them. That shift made room for the harder message: what OEM certification is, and why a customer should care.

To get the psychology right, Stratosphere worked with a behavioral economist on the "why we buy" decision-making behind the design. The build included:

  • A customer-needs-first design and a "zen-like" first impression for someone in the middle of chaos
  • The "they ask, you answer" inbound strategy to educate and convert
  • HubSpot CRM integrated to streamline conversions and reporting
  • Everything a customer needs to learn, decide, and transact with the shop, after hours included
  • The shop's value proposition woven in without turning the site "salesy" or back into a brochure
03The results

A site that reflects the shop and sells for it after hours

The dated brochure is now a working, customer-first inbound engine. Mid Island Collision has a website that matches its reputation: it reflects the quality of the work, carries the customer service the shop is known for, and lets customers learn, decide, and book after hours.

  • A modern, customer-first design built around the buyer's real state of mind
  • A clearer, calmer user experience for stressed customers
  • OEM-correct repair positioned as the reason to choose Mid Island
  • 24/7 ability to learn and transact, capturing demand outside business hours
"Customers show up already knowing why OEM-correct matters. The site does that conversation for us before they walk in." - Brian M., Mid Island Collision
